Who: |
NCYC is open to all Catholic high school age youth and their chaperones. The majority of youth participants are between 16 and 18 years old. They are often leaders in their local parishes, schools and/or diocese, though many are just beginning to connect to their faith. Some attendees may have participated in previous national or international events such as the World Youth Day. Many are experiencing this type of gathering for the first time.
Young adults 18-20 may attend with parish groups as leaders, but not as chaperones as all chaperones must be a minimum of 21 years of age. All parishes in our Archdiocese are encouraged to have their youth participate in this national event. |
What: |
The National Catholic Youth Conference (NCYC) is an exciting, biennial four-day experience of prayer, community, and empowerment for Catholic teenagers and their adult chaperones. The schedule includes general and concurrent sessions addressing a wide variety of topics including forgiveness, Catholic spirituality and prayer, global issues, sexuality, and leadership. There are also opportunities for liturgy and special activities such as a concert and exhibits.
